I’m Kelsey - the death doula, herbalist, and person behind Kairos.

I didn’t come to this work because it sounded beautiful. I am here because life handed me a year which changed everything - 2024.

After 2 misdiagnoses of pneumonia, my 33-year-old sister was diagnosed with Stage IV cancer and died just 40 days later. Thirty-one days after losing her, my partner died from suicide. Five months later, my uncle faced a nearly identical cancer diagnosis and died 37 days later.

Grief didn’t just visit. It rearranged my entire life.

I have always leaned toward a holistic view of life, but after the deep season of loss, Traditional Chinese Medicine and Western herbalism became more than an interest… they became something that brought me back to life. Learning about the energetics of herbs, meridians, acupressure, and ancient ways to deal with modern issues brought me joy in a season I felt I was drowning.

Kairos means the right time.

None of us get to control timing. But when it’s your time to need support, whether that’s at the end of life or in the middle of trying to regulate your own, I’m here to walk with you.

My constant prayer since the grief began has “thank you for turning this pain into purpose.”
